The photograph above is me with my little 3&1/2 month old niece, Little Miss Brooklyn Marie Scott. She is the daughter of my youngest brother Frank and my sister-in-law Tammy Scott. I will be helping with the baby-sitting of this little bundle whenever time and opportunity allows. She was a BIG surprise. I really thought the ten nieces and nephews I have already were the last I would see! Miss Brooklyn makes eleven and barring a true miracle , she will be the last until the grand nieces and nephews start arriving.... Had a wonderful visit in my new home, yesterday, from my friend Louise Hall Beard and playwright and film director Del Shores and his partner Jason Dottley. They are married. One of the 18,000 same sex marriages that took place in California before California took a giant step backward and changed the law to "protect" heterosexual marriages. You tell me.... I am baffled by all of the issues involved in the "Cultural War" in The United States of America.. Just know I love my country and am proud to be a citizen. Iowa, Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts are the States leading the way today. California lost it's footing somehow.... Del Shores is in town from Los Angeles to do his one man show tomorrow night (Friday April 21, 2009) at Birmingham's TNT (Terrific New Theater). It is called SORDID LIVES and is based on the play and movie Del created as well as his new book. Louise Hall Beard is the producer. I will be attending after a quick stop by Dream Mecca Art Gallery on Birmingham's South Side. Getting busy in Alabama again. Movie news about to break. More after I close the deal. Will be appearing in Cleveland a next month and in Nashville in October. More on those dates on my "Appearances Page". Glad to be over jet lag and back in Alabama --if only briefly... Hi Ya'll!!--------GS
